Biography

Stephen Clark received his Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from the University of Colorado in 1996. He has lived in Spain and has traveled to many countries of Latin America including Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Panama. His published scholarship includes literary criticism, translations, interviews of major Cuban writers, and book reviews.

Prior to joining CSU Channel Islands in the fall of 2007, Professor Clark taught at Northern Arizona University and Indiana State University. Here at CI he teaches courses in literature, culture, translation, and language.

In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with Chiquita, his bilingual Golden Retriever.
