Stephen Clark received his Ph.D. in Latin American literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has lived in Spain and traveled throughout Latin America, his favorite destinations being Havana, Cuba, and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. His published research includes literary criticism, literary translations, interviews of major Cuban writers, and book reviews dealing mainly with Cuban and Caribbean literature and culture.
Prior to joining CSUCI in 2007, he taught for a total of 11 years at Northern Arizona University and Indiana State University, where he developed courses on Cuban literature, U.S. Latino literature, and Spanish for law enforcement. He also taught at the secondary and community college levels after completing his M.A. at Middlebury College in Madrid and his B.A. at St. Mary’s College of California.
He looks forward to exploring the beaches and backcountry of Ventura County with Chiquita, his bilingual Golden Retriever. |
