Andrea Grove

Andrea Grove received a Ph.D. in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 1999, an M.A. in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lancaster University (in the United Kingdom, where she was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar) in 1993, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1992.

 

She began her professional career as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont in 1999-2000. Dr. Grove joined the faculty at Westminster College near Pittsburgh in the Fall of 2000, where she was recently named Associate Professor. At Westminster, Dr. Grove served as the Director of the Peace Studies Program and coordinator of the International Politics major. She primarily teaches in the areas of international relations and foreign policy, and enjoys teaching travel courses that enable students to experience history and politics in South Africa and Northern Ireland. 

 

Dr. Grove’s research interests include political leadership in foreign policy and conflict resolution, and she often conducts field work in Northern Ireland and South Africa. Her work has been published in several professional journals, including International Studies Quarterly, Foreign Policy Analysis, Political Psychology, Nationalism and Ethnic Politics, and International Politics. Her book manuscript, Political Leadership in Foreign Policy: Manipulating Support Across Borders, is forthcoming from Palgrave MacMillan.

 

Dr. Grove joined the faculty of California State University-Channel Islands in fall 2006, where she teaches courses in political science and international relations. She will reside in Camarillo with her husband and their new baby.
