 Dr. Smith joined the faculty at CSUCI from Butler University’s College of Business Administration. Previously she was a professor at Pepperdine University, where she served on the college and university diversity councils providing strategic planning and assessment guidance.
She employs experiential learning, film, oral presentation, and reflective writing to help students become stronger individual contributors, team members, managers, leaders and global citizens. Her research investigates diversity education & management, ethical decision-making and computer-mediated communication. Dr. Smith is President & Principal Consultant at D.L. Plummer & Associates, a diversity management and organizational development firm.
Dr. Smith received her M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University and her B.S. in Computer Science from Spelman College She belongs to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce, and the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College. She is also a former board member of Reachable Heights, a Ventura County not-for-profit organization. |
