Blackboard Gradebook

Gradebook Overview

  1. Items that are automatically created in Blackboard Gradebook
    1. Any test, quiz or survey created using the Blackboard Test Manager
    2. Any assignment created using Assignment Tool
    3. Discussion Forum (if you choose it as Grade Forum)
  2. You can create your own grading items to grade other course activities
    1. Attandence
    2. Paper or case studies…
  3. Blackboard Gradebook can be
    1. downloaded for a backup copy for your student grades
    2. uploaded after any modification

Managing Gradebook

  1. Add a new item/column to Gradebook
    1. Name the items
  2. Show/hide a column in Gradebook

  1. Override grades

Downloading and uploading Gradebook

  1. Download the Gradebook
    1. Click Download Grades button Download grades
    2. Choose Tab-delimited files (.xls) and submit
    3. Blackboard Gradebook will be opened in Excel
    4. Save the file as .csv file at your local computer
  2. Upload the Gradebook: you may modify the grades locally and then upload them back to Blackboard as .csv file
    1. In Blackboard GradeBook, click the Upload Grades Upload grades
    2. Click Browse to locate the .csv file to upload
    3. Under ”Choose Uploaded Item”, click the radio button to choose the item you want to upload

    4. Under “Choose Existing Item”, click the radio button to choose the destination for the uploaded item
