Embedding a Slideshow in Blackboard
Embed your Slideshow in Blackboard as an Assignment
- In your album, click "Link to this album"
- Click "Embed Slideshow"
- You can change the size of the slideshow if you wish using the "Select slideshow size" dropdown
- Copy the code in the yellow field titled "Copy and paste this into your website"
- Navigate to the Blackboard course you wish to embed the slideshow in
- Click "Control Panel" on the left side of the screen
- In the "Content Areas" panel, click "Assignments"
- **Note: It is possible to embed the slideshow in other areas, but for this tutorial we are going to use a blog in the Assignments section
- On the right hand side of the screen towards the top, from the "Select:" dropdown menu, select "Blog"
- Click "Go"
- Enter a name and description to the blog
- Customize your settings and click "OK"
- You'll see a receipt of success
- Click "OK"
- Click "View" under the blog assignment you just created
- Under the "Actions" tab, click "new entry"
- From the tool bar in the Blog entry, click the HTML icon
- Paste the code you copied from the Picasa website (ctrl + V or cmd + V on Mac)
- Click "Update"
- You should see a box in the content field of your blog entry with a Flash icon
in the center of it
- Right click the box and select "Insert / edit embedded media"
- Click the "Update" button
- **Note: If you don't see an update button, resize the window by clicking the border of the window and dragging it larger
- Enter any extra text or information that you want in the blog content field (i.e.: instructions on responding to the slideshow, etc.)
- When you are done, click "Save"
- You should now see your slideshow in the blog
