Embedding a Slideshow in Blackboard

Embed your Slideshow in Blackboard as an Assignment 

  • In your album, click "Link to this album"
  • Click "Embed Slideshow"
  • You can change the size of the slideshow if you wish using the "Select slideshow size" dropdown
  • Copy the code in the yellow field titled "Copy and paste this into your website" 
  • Navigate to the Blackboard course you wish to embed the slideshow in
  • Click "Control Panel" on the left side of the screen
  • In the "Content Areas" panel, click "Assignments"
    • **Note: It is possible to embed the slideshow in other areas, but for this tutorial we are going to use a blog in the Assignments section 
  • On the right hand side of the screen towards the top, from the "Select:" dropdown menu, select "Blog"
  • Click "Go"
  • Enter a name and description to the blog
  • Customize your settings and click "OK"
  • You'll see a receipt of success
  • Click "OK"
  • Click "View" under the blog assignment you just created
  • Under the "Actions" tab, click "new entry"
  • From the tool bar in the Blog entry, click the HTML icon html icon 
  • Paste the code you copied from the Picasa website (ctrl + V or cmd + V on Mac)
  • Click "Update"
  • You should see a box in the content field of your blog entry with a Flash icon flash icon in the center of it 
  • Right click the box and select "Insert / edit embedded media"
  • Click the "Update" button
    • **Note: If you don't see an update button, resize the window by clicking the border of the window and dragging it larger
  • Enter any extra text or information that you want in the blog content field (i.e.: instructions on responding to the slideshow, etc.)
  • When you are done, click "Save"
  • You should now see your slideshow in the blog
