Keynote Speaker

Wiggs Mendoza is responsible for providing policy and guidance for the business innovation and technology program. As Program Manager he created Metropolitan’s “Spring Green and “Global Water & Technology Forum”. These event programs were designed to forge collaborative relationships between innovators, venture capitalist, government, universities and scientists, with the aim of developing a deeper understanding of the challenges brought about by water and climate change. The intent is to discover solutions that can address these challenges.

His initiative, the “Managing your Innovation” workshop series launched in February 2011 help inventors articulate great ideas in the language of business and also help them determine whether these inventions are a possible business opportunity.

In addition to his professional duties, Wiggs also heads the Green Coalition of the San Jacinto Valley, a grass roots nonprofit whose goal is to create a sustainable community for the cities of Hemet and San Jacinto in Riverside County, California. His initiatives under this organization include the creation of a city ordinance addressing abandoned shopping carts, the installation of bike pathways and public bike racks, a neighborhood cleaning program and economic development programs focusing on clean technology. Wiggs also served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Hemet and was heavily involved in mandating green building elements in new construction.

Wiggs has a BA in Economics and an MBA in Global Management from University of Phoenix.
