Drop-In Counseling
Do you need assistance with your resume/cover letter? Do you need help searching for an on-campus or off-campus position but don’t have an appointment scheduled? Do you want to explore which job opportunities are directly related to your major? Do you need to know how to research graduate school programs? Are you interested in finding out strategic ways to become a competitive applicant in the current market? If so, attend drop-in counseling and have your questions answered by the Career Development Services (CDS) team.
Graduate School Counseling
CDS offers graduate school exploration and preparation counseling by providing individual services and the Graduate School Bound Program.

Resume Clinics 
Have a question about your resume? Do you need sample resumes? Do you need to prepare your resume for an internship or job opportunity? If so, attend our weekly resume clinics* to receive recommendations on how to design an effective resume which markets your skills appropriately. See our Resume Handbook (PDF, 1.6 MB) for a comprehensive overview of resumes, cover letters, professional reference sheets, and thank you letters.

Participating in a mock interview is an excellent way to practice your interview skills and receive feedback and recommendations on how to make a stellar first impression. Sign-up today in the Career Development Center to reserve a spot for a 30- minute practice interview with a CDS staff member.

Career assessments are a way for you to better understand yourself and serve as the foundation of your career planning. Taking a career assessment will enable you to explore your values, personality preferences, interests, and skills to discover which careers are aligned with your strengths and unique talents. 9th Annual Graduate & Professional School Week
In the fall semester, CDS hosts a week of graduate school exploration and preparation workshops as well as the annual Graduate & Professional School Fair. This fair attracts admissions representatives from approximately 40 diverse graduate schools who showcase their university programs and offer admission information.
The Graduate & Professional School Fair will be hosted on Thursday, November 8, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Broome Library Plaza.

10th Annual Career & Internship Week
In the spring semester, CDS hosts an annual CSU Channel Islands Career & Internship Fair which attracts a diverse range of employers representing various industries who are actively recruiting to fill available positions. The fair is the culminating event of Career & Internship Week, which features a series of workshops to assist students in preparation for the event. The Career & Internship Fair will be hosted on Thursday, April 12, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Broome Library Plaza.
