How to Apply as an International Transfer Student

Application Form and Fee

Complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission. Download the form (PDF). Return the application to CSUCI, along with a check for the non-refundable $55 fee by March 31, 2009 for Fall Semester and November 30, 2008 for Spring Semester.  The documents deadlines are April 30 for Fall and November 30 for Spring.  Please make the check payable to California State University Channel Islands.  We are currently accepting applications from all community colleges in the U.S.  Please make sure that you have at least 60 units and have completed “Oral communication”, “Written communication”, “Critical thinking” and “College level mathematics/quantitative reasoning” with “C” or better.

English Score

Submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or other acceptable test (see below for list of tests).  Scores must be sent directly to CSUCI from testing agency.  It's not necessary to submit the TOEFL score if you have completed the required Freshman Composition Class at your community college.

Acceptable English Placement Exams

• TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language with a minimum Paper-Based score of 500, a minimum Computer Based score of 173 or a minimum Internet Based score of 61.
• IELTS – International English Language Test System

Affidavit of Financial Support and Bank Statement

Submit Affidavit of Financial Support and bank statement.  The forms may be faxed to (805) 437-8951.

Official Transcripts

Please submit the original or certified copies of all official transcripts from the designated community colleges.  Please do not fax the transcripts.  If you have any secondary school records from outside of the U.S., please contact World Education Services at www.wes.org or International Education Research Foundation at www.ierf.org to have your records officially evaluated by one of the companies.
