SYNOPSIS:
The sponsor announces a competition for grants that support international exchanges in order to increase mutual understanding and build relationships, through individuals and organizations, between the people of the United States and their counterparts in other countries. The sponsor will accept proposals in the following areas: Intensive English Language Program; or, Capacity Building for Undergraduate or Graduate Study Abroad.
A total of approximately $8 million is available.

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces a competition for grants
to enable the Government of the United States to increase mutual understanding between
the people of the United States and the people of other countries; to strengthen the
ties which unite us with other nations by demonstrating the educational and
cultural interests, developments, and achievements of the people of the United States
and other nations and thus to assist in the development of friendly, sympathetic and
peaceful relations between the United States and the other countries of the world.
