CSU Channel Islands Commencement

Commencement Ceremony - Saturday, May 19, 2012

The Commencement ceremony at CSU Channel Islands is a candidate’s ceremony and not a degree conferral ceremony. Participation in the ceremony does not guarantee degree certification. Candidates who are denied will receive notification by mail from the Records & Registration office. Denied candidates are required to reapply for graduation for the term in which all degree requirements are met. More information about the Commencement ceremony will be posted at a later date. Additionally, eligible degree candidates will receive a Commencement Candidate & Guest Information booklet in the mail early in the Spring 2012 semester.

Application for Degree and Diploma

In order to graduate, you must complete the Application for Degree and Diploma.  For more information regarding this and other graduation information, please visit the Graduation FAQs page or contact Records & Registration.

 Reservation to Participate in Commencement

In order to participate in the Commencement ceremony, you must complete the mandatory online Reservation to Participate form, which will be available early in the Spring 2012 semester.


CI Grad Fest 2012

Degree candidates who plan to participate in next year's Commencement ceremony (May 19, 2012) are encouraged to attend the CI Grad Fest where a multitude of services and information will be available in one convenient location.  The 2012 Grad Fest event will provide a one-stop shop for degree candidates to:

  • Confirm eligibility to participate in the Commencement ceremony;
  • Complete the mandatory online Reservation to Participate process;
  • Arrange for disability accommodations;
  • Take senior portraits;
  • Purchase caps/gowns/tassels;
  • Order announcements and school rings;
  • Purchase diploma frames;
  • Research graduate school opportunities;
  • Join the Alumni & Friends Association; and
  • Find out about parking and transportation services and processes for Commencement.

The dates for Grad Fest 2012 will be posted here as soon as they become available. 

Honors

The Honors Convocation ceremony will be held on campus on Friday, May 4, 2012. At that time, honors candidates will be recognized and will receive their cord or medallion that may later be worn at Commencement. Invitations with further details will be mailed to honors students in April 2012. Your family and guests are also welcome to attend this ceremony.  Additional details will be posted here as they become available.
