Disability Resource Programs

Mission & Goals

The mission of Disability Resource Programs is to empower and support students with physical, learning or psychological disabilities so that they can participate as fully in and benefit as equitably from University campus life as non-disabled students to realize their academic and personal potential.

Goal 1: To promote and assist students with disabilities in the admission and enrollment process.

Goal 2: To provide accommodations that will assist students to overcome barriers and reduce the impact of their disabilities on their college experiences.

Goal 3: To encourage a learning community in and beyond the classroom that promotes academic excellence, success, personal development and self-advocacy.

Goal 4: To promote awareness of the needs and capabilities of students with disabilities among students, faculty, staff, administration and the surrounding community.

Goal 5: To serve as a resource for members of the University community, prospective students, parents, and members of the public.

Goal 6: To provide opportunities for students to build and practice community by exploring and investing in the nine dimensions of wellness.

Goal 7: To determine student needs and improve program quality through ongoing assessment of Disability Resource Programs.
