Spring to Summer Transition (Alternative Stay)

CSU Channel Islands is not in session after 7 p.m. on Friday of the last week of spring semester. Residents approved for Alternative Stay may reside in Housing past that date. There is a nightly cost for Alternative Stay and late request fees are $25. Applicable charges will be posted to your myCI student account and due within 30 days. Residents approved to extend their stay should review the Vacating 101 Guide (generally emailed in April each year) for more information.

Please Note:

  • If you intend to sign a license agreement for the summer term, an alternative stay request must be completed in addition to the summer housing application. Submission of one request in absence of the other will not be approved.

Summer Housing

Summer Housing for CSUCI students is generally available between the end of May and beginning of August.

The Summer Housing Application is available by the end of spring semester through the Student Housing Application Portal (via myCI). Log in to the Student Housing portal --> select Summer Application --> select summer term --> proceed with all application steps --> email confirming application will be sent to your myCI email.

Please review the Summer License Agreement (when it becomes available in mid to late spring semester) for further information regarding fees, deadlines, payment plans, terms, and conditions.

Summer residents receive room only; no summer board (meal plans) are provided.

Summer residents should anticipate a double occupancy room in the Town Center apartments

Please contact Transportation & Parking Services for more information about summer parking permits.

Summer to Fall Transition (Early Move-In)

All non-returning residents must vacate housing at the end of their  Summer License Agreement term.

Returning residents who wish to stay on-campus between the end of their summer license and the start of their next academic year license will be required to submit an Early Move-In Request Form and will be subject to relocation to their fall room assignment during the first week of August or as requested by HRE staff. Additional information will be provided via myCI email address.
