You will find the details about the student housing villages, application process and the important dates outlined below.
Applying for student housing can bring up a lot of questions. We have tried to address many of them on this site through the various pages. Should you need additional information or clarification, please contact Housing and Residential Education at student.housing@csuci.edu.
There is space for new residents in the spring semester of 2008. The application period for spring 2008 opens on October 31, 2007. Student housing applications are available online only through your Dolphin VIP account. Applicants for the spring 2008 semester will begin to receive housing contract offers in mid-December. If you have questions about the status of your application, please email Rachel Tafoya at rachel.tafoya@csuci.edu.
Students who are admitted to the University will receive an admission letter and an Intent to Enroll form. Once the University receives your Intent to Enroll form and Intent to Enroll fee, you will be able to apply for student housing. Students who do not fill out an Intent to Enroll form will not be able to apply for student housing. The earlier your Intent to Enroll form and fee are returned to the University, the earlier you will be able to apply for student housing and receive a contract offer. All student housing is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
All interested students will apply for student housing through their own Dolphin VIP page. The link to the student housing application will not become available on your Dolphin VIP page until the University receives your Intent to Enroll form and fee.

All freshmen and sophomores will be assigned space in our newest student housing facility, Santa Cruz Village.
Congratulations on completing your lower-division course work and making the transition into the University. Transfer students bring a lot of talents, experiences and different perspectives to our campus community. We believe that living in student housing is the best way for you to fully immerse yourself in the best that CSUCI has to offer.
Transfer students may begin applying for student housing as soon as they are admitted into the University. The application filing period will begin as soon as the University receives your Intent to Enroll form and fee. After submitting your Intent to Enroll form and fee, please visit your Dolphin VIP page to apply for housing.
Students already living on campus will be able to apply for housing and make room and roommate selections beginning March 1, 2008. More details will be available in February about this process.
Applying for student housing is a two-part process. Students must fill out a housing application online utilizing their Dolphin VIP account. After the online application is submitted, the $50.00 student housing application fee is due to the University Cash Services office. Student housing applications will be processed based on the date that the student housing application process is completed. The date that will be used to establish priority for offers of housing space will be the date when the $50.00 application fee is paid.
The student housing application provides us with important personal contact information, living preferences, and emergency contact information. Questions will include what type of studying environment is preferred, typical bedtime, etc. Applicants are encouraged to fill out the information as accurately as possible as it will be used to pair roommates based on their common interests and living environment preferences. Students may also request roommate and suite/apartment mates by name. It is essential that these requests be mutual in order to be honored. Please make roommate requests prior to June 1 for fall placement in order to ensure full consideration of your request.
Cal State Channel Islands has a strong commitment to providing access and availability to the University for all students. We have numerous apartments that are ADA accessible. If you have a need for these accommodations, please notify us as soon as possible in the student housing application process so that we can accommodate your needs. We encourage all students who require special ADA accommodations to contact the Disability Resource Programs office to ensure effective coordination of University services, including housing accommodations.
