Survey and Data Requests

What is the process for requesting data?

If you are unable to find the data you are looking for in the reports on our main website, please complete all sections of the automated data request form and submit it along with the supporting documentation as outlined in the form.  Save or print a copy of the form for your records.

Due to organizational restructuring, IR is not accepting new data requests until after August 1, 2018

After submitting your request, you will receive an automatic reply with a time-stamp and a reference number. Use this reference number in all correspondence related to your request. Within two business days, a member of the Institutional Research Office (IR) will contact you to confirm and clarify your request. It will then be assigned to an analyst for processing.  If you do not hear from us within that time, please email michael.bourgeois@csuci.edu.

How long does it take to complete a request?

It is best to plan ahead when possible. The amount of time needed to complete data requests depends on complexity and staff availability; however, most are completed within three weeks (15 business days).

  • Please note that data requests that are an institutional priority may cause a delay in a previously confirmed timeline.  In that event, you will be contacted by our office.

What types of information does IR provide?

  • Graduation and Retention Rates

What types of information does IR NOT provide?

What security responsibilities are assumed when receiving institutional data?

All information produced by the IR Office are confidential and protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). For convenience, the Admissions and Recruitment Office provides an outline of the act on their website. It is the responsibility of the requesting party to understand and agree to these protections prior to submitting any request.
