This page will help you find out how to access a particular system at CSUCI, including determining what user name and password you must use to access each system.

What is my CSUCI account ID/user name?

Students: Your CSUCI account ID/user name is in the format: firstname.lastnameXXX, where XXX is a 3-digit number. For example, a student named Pat Richards might have the CSUCI account ID/user name pat.richards123.

Faculty, Staff and Other Employees: your CSUCI account ID/user name is in the format: firstname.lastname. For example, an employee named Tracy Jones would have the CSUCI account ID/user name tracy.jones.

How do I get a CSUCI account ID/user name?

Students: To receive a CSUCI account ID/user name, you must

1. Be admitted to CSUCI as a student; and
2. Have filed your "Intent to Enroll" form with Admissions.

Once you have completed these two steps, you will be mailed a letter containing your CSUCI account ID/user name .

Faculty, Staff and Other Employees: your supervisor will provide you with a CSUCI account ID/user name once you begin employment at the University.

Visitors and Guests: Visitors and guests of the University may be eligible to receive a CSUCI account ID/user name to access specific University technology resources. Please contact the Help Desk to obtain additional information.

What is my password?

Your password is different depending on the system you access. Information Technology is working to consolidate passwords into a single-signon solution. To determine which password to use for a specific system, please refer to the Table of Systems, Account ID's and Passwords.

• Students: your default password for most systems (including your default Domain Password) is your student ID number. It is written on the front of your student ID card.
• Faculty, Staff and other Employees: please contact the Help Desk to obtain your default password for any system.

What is my Domain Password?

Your Domain Password enables you to access services on one of two CSUCI networks, also known as "domains".

• CSUCIAD is the name of the domain/network for CSUCI employees, including faculty and staff
• ISLANDS is the name of the domain/network for CSUCI students

Your Domain Password is used with your CSUCI ID to access:

• Wireless access
• Computers in campus labs and classrooms
• Web space (students only)
• Campus Email
• Faculty/Staff
• Students
• Blackboard
  

Your domain password is as follows:

• Students: Your default Domain Password is your student ID number. It is written on the front of your student ID card. During your first logon to the ISLANDS domain, you will be prompted to change your password. Instructions for logging on to computer labs and/or the ISLANDS domain are available.
• Faculty, Staff and other Employees: please contact the Help Desk to obtain your default password for any system.

What is my Student ID Number?

Your Student ID Number is the 9-digit number located on the front of your student ID card in the bottom-left corner, right below your name. Please view the following example:

 

I forgot my CSUCI ID. Where can I get that information?

What is my email address?

Students: your email address is your CSUCI ID + "@dolphin.csuci.edu". For example, a student named Pat Richards with a CSUCI ID called "pat.richards123" would have the Dolphin email address pat.richards123@dolphin.csuci.edu. Please visit the Email page for more help.

Faculty, Staff and other Employees: your email address is your CSUCI ID + "@csuci.edu". For example, a CSUCI employee named Tracy Smith with a CSUCI ID called "tracy.smith" would have the email address tracy.smith@csuci.edu. Please visit the Email page for more help.
