Several programs and organizations offer tutoring services for CI students. Please note that tutoring services listed on this page are not affiliated with the Learning Resource Center. Any questions or concerns regarding tutoring should be directed to the contact person listed for that program.
Biology Program Tutors
The biology program offers tutoring for all levels of undergraduate biology coursework. Tutors are located in the open study area on the second floor of Aliso Hall. Tutor schedules for the Spring 2013 semester are available here. (PDF, 342KB)

Math 94/95 Labs
Students enrolled in Math 94 and 95 are required to attend supplemental labs as a part of their course grade. Questions about grading should be directed to the instructional student assistants working in the Math 94/95 labs. Math 399 Labs
Several math courses have a corresponding "Math 399" lab section for which students are encouraged to register. Math 399 is a one-unit course graded Credit/No Credit. Questions about grading should be directed to the instructional student assistants working in the Math 399 labs. Nursing Program Tutors
The CSU Channel Islands’ Nursing Program offers peer tutoring to all nursing students. The peer tutors are hired by the Nursing Program, and are currently available at no cost due to grant funding. Nursing peer tutors may tutor on nursing curriculum course subject matter only, e.g., pathophysiology, pharmacology, cardiovascular system, care planning, etc. Skills or clinical development needs should be pursued through the Simulation Lab or Clinical Instructor(s). STEM Center Tutoring
The CI STEM Center (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) offers free peer tutoring for students. In particular, the STEM center specializes in tutoring for students in "gateway" science and mathematics courses. The STEM Center is located in El Dorado Hall. Language tutors
Spanish
Spanish tutoring supports introductory to advanced levels. Students receive help on
grammar questions, reading comprehension and conversational Spanish practice. Tutors
also provide comments and suggestions which can aid in the improvement of students'
writing skills. However, tutors will not edit, proofread or "fix" student papers."
