The old facilities are now blending with the new as construction on the John Spoor Broome Library moves toward its expected opening in early 2008. Impressive progress was made during the summer when renovation and new construction phases moved along at a fast pace, according to Jim Walsh, constructor administrator, Operations, Planning and Construction. The installation of support columns and the construction of walls have begun to define space. By December holiday break, the structural concrete and steel framing activities will be complete and the curtain wall system for the glass enclosure will begin, Walsh said.
