Alumni Show Support Two recent events have given California State University Channel
Islands alumni an opportunity to show support for their alma mater at national and
local levels.
The California State Society’s Back To College Night was held on Capitol Hill, Washington,
D.C., in late September. Julie Butler (’06 Biology) and Monaliza Menor (’03 Liberal
Studies), who both live in the Washington, D.C. area, attended the event. Members
of California’s Washington delegation and other members of Congress are invited to
this event.
Eleven alumni and 33 members of the Alumni & Friends Association turned out and showed
their support for CSUCI at the Eighth-Annual President’s Dinner. The event was held
at the Olivas Adobe Historical Park in Ventura.
