Reservation and Fee Questions

How do I reserve a space for orientation?

May I pay with a credit card?

Yes, you may pay with a credit card at the payment section of the online reservation form.  This will secure your space immediately.

May I pay with a check?

If you would like to pay with a check, please email orientation@csuci.edu and we will send you a reservation form.  Instructions for completion and payment details are printed on the form. It is important to remember that spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and we will do the best we can to accommodate your requests.  You will receive an email confirmation containing the date for which you have been registered after we have received and processed your reservation form and payment.

I do not want to register online. How else can I register for Mid-Year Orientation?

Please contact the New Student Center at (805) 437-3160 or orientation@csuci.edu and we will provide you with a hard copy form for completion and submission.

Do my guests have to register for orientation and pay the fee?

Any guest who is attending orientation with students must pay the required guest fee of $35.
 

General Orientation Questions

Is orientation required? 

Orientation is highly recommended for incoming transfer students and mandatory for freshman students. 

May I buy my parking permit, ID card and books at orientation?

Yes. 

Will I register for classes at Mid-Year Orientation?

Students register during their advising workshop, not at Mid-Year Orientation.

Does financial aid cover the orientation fees?

Orientation fees are not paid by financial aid.  In special circumstances, students can submit a written appeal to jaimie.hoffman@csuci.edu requesting that orientation fees be taken out of the fall financial aid disbursement.  The Orientation Appeals Committee will make a decision regarding each appeal and notify students of their status.

What time is check-in?

Check-in begins at  1:00 p.m.

Where is check-in?

Check-in will be located in the Aliso Hall Plaza.

Where do I park and do I need a permit?

Parking lots will be clearly marked when you arrive on campus and parking for Mid-Year Orientation is free.

What time does Mid-Year Orientation end?

Orientation will conclude at 5:30 p.m.
