About Me: |
I just completed my second year at CSUCI and it has been an amazing journey filled with new friendships and experiences. I enjoy meeting new people and trying new things. I like to stay active by running around our beautiful campus, going to the gym and of course, dancing! I love learning, life and the opportunities it brings along with the challenges it entails that constantly shape the person I am today and will be in the future. I am currently majoring in Biology with the goal of becoming a dentist, specializing in pediatrics. I also hope to one day establish my own nutrition center to educate others about the importance of living a balanced, healthy lifestyle. I am thrilled to be meeting all of the new incoming freshmen and transfer students. This will be a great opportunity to explore the many wonderful things CSUCI has to offer as you enter into a new phase of your life. |

One day you will be able to look back and appreciate some of the most memorable events that took place while you were here. |

About Me: |
This fall will begin my third year at CSUCI. I am very excited to begin my first summer as an Orientation Leader. I have always enjoyed playing music and over the years have learned saxophone, flute, clarinet, and guitar. I like roller coasters, traveling, and hanging out with my friends. You can usually find me hanging out in the New Student Center. Being at CSUCI has been such an amazing experience and I am excited to see where my next two years here take me!

About Me: |
This is now my second year here at CSUCI and I have been loving it thus far. I am an EOP student who came to CI ready and willing to get involved in anything I found interesting. Coming from a family of seven children, I have grown to love interacting with people. I love experiencing new and exciting things, all while having a safe, great time. Choosing CSUCI was one of the best life decisions I have made. I have learned so much about life, choices and especially myself. My goal for life is to live it with no regrets and to count every moment as a learning experience. |

Advice to Incoming Students: |
It is important to remember that anything is possible to achieve once you really give it all your energy. Try to keep the mind set that with a plan, nothing is too far out of reach. I have found that a great way to enhance your college experience is by getting involved in co-curricular activities, as long as you feel you can balance it with your academic pursuits. It is easy to become overwhelmed as a first year student with a heavier workload in a new environment, so pace yourself in all that you do and remember to keep your head held high! |

I am starting my fourth year here at wonderful Cal State Channel Islands! This is my first year getting involved on campus but as they say “better late than never.” I am quiet at first, but once you get to know me I am an open book. I love joking around with my friends and family, blowing bubbles in the South Quad, and meeting new people every chance I get. I can’t wait to meet all of the lovely incoming freshman and transfer students! Dolphin Pride! |

About Me: |
I have just finished my first year here at CSUCI and my first year back in the states. Both have been an awesome experience. For the past 10 years I have been living overseas in places like Bahrain, Italy, and India. The people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had have shaped me into the person I am today, which is an adaptive, hard-working, and friendly individual. Choosing CSUCI was not a hard choice for me because I knew it was going to be a place to grow even more as a person and I felt at home here. At CSUCI, I plan to major in Nursing in hopes to someday become a Nurse Practitioner in the military SO I can still keep traveling around the world. Right now though, I’m excited for the upcoming years I will be spending here at CSUCI and the people that will further enrich our school with experiences and knowledge. |
|
Advice to Incoming Students: |
Be open-minded and don’t be afraid to get involved. It’s a scary thing to come to a new school and have that feeling of being alone, but everyone was new here at some point. The great thing about CSUCI is that you aren’t a number in a crowd of people but an individual who is joining our O-mazing family. |

About Me: |
I am heading into my fourth year at Channel Islands and I can honestly say that through this University, I have grown tremendously. During the past few years, I served as a Peer Mentor in the New Student Center and have now worked with orientation for three years. I will look back at this and my last two years with Orientation Staff with nothing but fond memories. I love the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, and fishing. I have played the piano for 12 years. I am an Eagle Scout and am involved on campus mainly through orientation and helping with Dr. Sawyer’s Public Speaking class. |

| About Me: |
I'll be entering my second year here at CSUCI, and I am ecstatic. My first year here was quite the experience, and I've grown from it. The professors were amazing, my friends are the best I've had, and my family has been completely supportive. Around campus, I've volunteered for the Leaders in Education Awareness Program (LEAP), and will be continuing to do so next year. I love hanging out with my friends, watching movies, and going to events on campus. I've wanted to be a part of orientation from the very beginning, and I can't wait to meet all the incoming freshmen and transfer students! |
| Advice to Incoming Students: |
Get involved! Trust me, it's the best way to make friends, meet staff and faculty, and get the support you'll need for a life changing year. Live it up, the CI way. |
