Campus Standards

As our campus grows, it has become necessary to establish standards to provide continuity in offices. These standards include the furniture that we purchase to complete our environments. A committee was formed fall 2007 to establish the styles, surface materials and color pallets. Taken into consideration on setting these standards were such value points as cost, durability, sustainability, and aesthetics. The committee has selected the Steelcase furniture line distributed by bkm office environments® for several reasons: discounted pricing through the CSU systemwide contract, well designed and constructed products that can be maintained easily, furniture that will last longer before needing to be discarded and replaced, and style lines that work with our campus theme and provide cohesiveness among the separate areas. For all of these reasons, each department on campus is required to purchase furniture following the standards established by the committee.
