The Outstanding Group Award

This award is presented to a student group on campus (groups that have members/officers that are paid and/or groups that are coordinated by a paid staff/faculty/administrator) that has been active for three or more semesters. The recipient of this award:

  • Has made an impact on the campus and/or local community 
  • Assists in the advancement of other groups and/or departments
  • Contributes to the leadership development of its members
  • Is committed to academic excellence and student involvement
  • Provides consistent high-quality contributions through events/activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the club or organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize a specific need and affect positive change

The Outstanding Student Organization Award

This award is presented to a student organization consisting solely of volunteers (not coordinated by a paid staff/faculty/administrator) and has been registered for three or more semesters. The recipient of this award:

  • Has made an impact on the campus and/or local community
  • Assists in the advancement of other groups and/or departments
  • Contributes to the leadership development of its members
  • Is committed to academic excellence and student involvement
  • Provides consistent high-quality contributions through events/activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the club or organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize a specific need and affect positive change

Most Promising Student Organization Award

This award is presented to a student organization that has been registered (with Student Leadership Programs) for two semesters or less. Also, if the organization has been registered in the past, it is only eligible for this award if it was inactive for two or more years before re-registering. The recipient of this award:

  • Has demonstrated the potential to make significant impact on the campus community
  • Contributes to the leadership development of its members
  • Is committed to academic excellence and student involvement
  • Provides consistent high-quality contributions through events/activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the club or organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize a specific need and affect positive change
