A Day with Patch Adams: Wed., Sept. 26, 2007

Patch Adams, M.D., a nationally known speaker on wellness, laughter, and humor as well as on health care and health care systems, will be spending a day at the Channel Islands campus on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. 

Dr. Adams approaches the issues of personal, community, and global health with zestful exuberance, according to Time Magazine.  Dr. Adams believes that the most revolutionary act one can commit in our world is to be happy.  He wears many hats, including:  Medical Doctor; Clown; Performer; Social Activist; Founder and Director of the Gesundheit Institute, a holistic medical community that has provided free medical care to thousands of patients since it began in 1971; Author of Gesundheit! & House Calls; Moving Speaker.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • CSUCI faculty and staff book signing with Patch Adams:  8-8:45 a.m.
  • CSUCI students:  A Day with Patch Adams* - Program times are as follows:  9-9:50 a.m.; 11-11:50 a.m.; 1-1:50 p.m. (*open first to mandatory class attendants/students)
  • Campus & Community: An Evening with Patch Adams:  6 - 8 p.m. Program; 8 - 8:30 p.m. Book Signing
    • Tickets: CSUCI Faculty & Staff: $15; General Public: $30; CSUCI Students: Contact Student Life at (805) 437-8510 for information regarding admittance to the event.

All events to be held on the campus of CSU Channel Islands, Malibu Hall 100.

Tickets for the community event are sold out.

Free parking to and from the campus will be available from the Camarillo Metrolink Station/Lewis Road from 5 - 9 p.m.
