Community Outreach

CSU Channel Islands supports the Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance  (VCREA) in its initiatives to bring a regional approach to energy efficiency that leads to renewable energy efforts.  

As part of the campus' community outreach efforts to keep the public well informed, CSUCI has referred students and community members to VCREA to obtain practical knowledge and leverage regional  resources. 

VCREA was established as a joint powers public agency in response to the 2000-01 power crisis with the primary goals of reducing energy demand and increasing energy efficiency, and advancing the use of clean, efficient and renewable local resources.
