VPN Access Information
What is VPN?
Channel Islands T&I provides virtual private network (VPN) access to permit secure remote access to certain systems and services within the Channel Islands network. VPN access is not required to connect to Dolphin Files, CI Records or Webmail, as these services can be accessed remotely, and securely, through myCI. VPN access is required for remote access to:
- Group shares ("G Drive")
- Key Server
VPN access may also be required to access certain business systems from off campus.
How do I request access?
To receive VPN access, please complete the VPN access form linked below. Unless otherwise authorized by the Information Security Officer and Chief Information Officer, you must have a University-issued laptop computer to use the VPN. Depending on the nature of the work you will be performing, you may also be required to receive the approval of the Information Security Officer and Chief Information Officer. Consult the instruction page of the VPN Access Form for further details.
The completed VPN form should be sent to the Help Desk who will assign the ticket to the appropriate technician and contact you when your VPN access is ready for use. Instructions on how to access from off campus will be provided to you at that time.
