Pathway to College Campus Visit Program

The Pathway to College Campus Visit Program is hosted for K-8th grade students by trained CI LEAP student volunteers. This program consists of a college readiness workshop, CI student panel, guided campus tour, and concludes with your option of either an interactive retention activity coined the "College Knowledge Bowl" (Option A) or an interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activity (Option B). Read below for a description of both. This four-hour program serves students at CI each Friday of the academic year from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and accommodates a maximum of 60 students per visit during the fall semester and 120 students during the spring semester. Space is limited, so register today!

Option A: College Knowledge Bowl
Students participate in an interactive activity where they will have the opportunity to review what they have learned from their mentors throughout the day including the four most important steps to college, CI facts, ways to prepare today and much more! Students will divide into teams and work collaboratively to answer questions about their Pathway to College and have the chance to win fun prizes. Activity time: 20-30 minutes
Option B: Interactive STEM Activity
Are you interested in a quick, dynamic, student-centered session that will introduce your students to the experience of entering a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) field? The Pathway to College Campus Visit Program is now offering an interactive STEM workshop! The workshop will include an age-appropriate science demonstration to get your students excited about STEM as well as an interactive workshop focused on the merits and future potential of graduating with a STEM degree. Activity time: 30-40 minutes
