The Pathway to College Campus Visit Program is hosted for K-8th grade students by trained CI LEAP student volunteers. This program consists of a college readiness workshop, CI student panel, guided campus tour, and concludes with your option of either an interactive retention activity coined the "College Knowledge Bowl" (Option A) or an interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activity (Option B). Read below for a description of both. This four-hour program serves students at CI each Friday of the academic year from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and accommodates a maximum of 60 students per visit during the fall semester and 120 students during the spring semester. Space is limited, so register today!
Option A: College Knowledge Bowl
Students participate in an interactive activity where they will have the opportunity to review what they have learned from their mentors throughout the day including the four most important steps to college, CI facts, ways to prepare today and much more! Students will divide into teams and work collaboratively to answer questions about their Pathway to College and have the chance to win fun prizes. Activity time: 20-30 minutes
Option B: Interactive STEM Activity
Are you interested in a quick, dynamic, student-centered session that will introduce your students to the experience of entering a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) field? The Pathway to College Campus Visit Program is now offering an interactive STEM workshop! The workshop will include an age-appropriate science demonstration to get your students excited about STEM as well as an interactive workshop focused on the merits and future potential of graduating with a STEM degree. Activity time: 30-40 minutes

If you would like to schedule a guided tour for your students but are unable to participate in a Friday Pathway to College Campus Visit, your second option is to register for a Monday-Thursday One-Hour Tour. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about our beautiful campus by receiving a guided tour from our LEAP (Leaders in Education Awareness Program) student volunteers. LEAP volunteers will guide your students on a one-hour campus tour and visit five major locations on campus. Tours may be scheduled Monday through Thursday for a maximum of 60 students per visit.

If you are unable to schedule a One-Hour Tour for your students, you can still enjoy our beautiful campus by participating in a Self-Guided Tour. School chaperones will be provided with the materials needed to guide their own students through our campus. Materials include a campus map and speaking points which are provided to the chaperone at the start of the day at CI. Tours may be scheduled Monday through Thursday for a maximum of 60 students per visit.

The CI Rep Visit Program is designed to bring a representative from CSU Channel Islands into your K-8th grade classroom to provide a college readiness workshop and engage students on topics related to the college entrance requirements and goal setting. You may register for a visit between Monday and Thursday for up to three presentations a day and a maximum of 60 students per presentation.

The COMM-Unity 101 Classroom Visit Program seeks to provide 6th-8th grade students the opportunity to engage in a 30-minute college readiness presentation followed by a student panel. The unique aspect of this program is that each presentation is delivered by a team of CI students as their final project for their Communication 101 course. This means that each presentation is unique and delivered by a different group of CI students. Only eight presentations are hosted per semester, so register today!
