Internet Explorer 8 or 9 and Firefox 31esr are the recommended browsers.

Internet Explorer Settings

In Internet Explorer 8 or 9, make the Hyperion server a trusted site. This will allow exporting and downloading into Excel and other “dangerous” behavior by default.

Navigate to Tools / Internet Options / Security / Trusted Sites / Custom level. Scroll down to Miscellaneous.
Enable “Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraint.” This will allow the Hyperion menus to work correctly.

If Planning logs you out at the first attempt to export a report to Excel each day, then you log back in and it works the second time, Navigate to Tools ,Internet Options , Security, Trusted Sites , Custom level, scroll to Downloads (about a third of the way down the list); and enable “Automatic prompting for file downloads”” and enable “File download.”

Make sure all popup blockers are off.

Firefox Settings

Although Firefox 24esr is the officially supported version from Oracle, we’ve tested Firefox 31esr and it appears to work fine. In fact, all versions since 3.6 have been fine. If you are installing Firefox just for Planning, install the latest esr version. But if you already have the latest non-esr version, it should be fine, but you must install and configure the Remote XUL Manager. Until you do so, you will get a blank screen instead of the sign-on screen when you go to Workspace.

Install the Remote XUL Manager extension by performing a Google search and configure it as follows:

Navigate to Tools / Web Developer / Remote XUL Manager
Add the following domain:

Make sure all popup blockers are off.

Note: copy and paste appear to have stopped working in Planning using Firefox. Oracle says this is a known issue.

Remember: You can only use Firefox or IE 8 or 9 to access Hyperion Planning. Google Chrome is not compatible with Hyperion.
