The student conduct process at CI
- Step 1: An alleged violation of the Student Conduct Code is reported to the Student Conduct and Community Responsibility office
- Step 2: The violation is investigated
- If no evidence of a violation is found, then the case is dismissed and the process ends.
- If evidence of a violation is found, proceed to Step 3
- Step 3: Conference is held
- Step 4: One of three things can happen after the Conference
- The case is dismissed if there is new evidence unavailable at the time of the investigation and the process ends; or
- The case is resolved with a resolution agreement if the accused student accepts the charge(s) and recommended sanction(s); or
- The student rejects the charge(s) and/or the sanction(s). If this occurs, then the following takes place:
- A University hearing is held
- The University hearing officer submits their findings and sanction recommendations to the Vice President for Student Affairs
- The Vice President for Student Affairs issues a final decision on the charge(s) and sanction(s)
