After invited speakers have concluded, University Marshals will lead their graduates to the stage where each graduating student will have their name announced and shake the President's hand, as they walk across the stage. Each ceremony is expected to last approximately two hours.

*Note: While you may be inclined to leave after your name has been called, please plan to stay for the duration of the ceremony as it would be impolite to leave while your fellow classmates are being honored.

Academic Attire

Graduates are required to wear a cap and gown in order to participate in commencement ceremonies. At the beginning of the ceremony, tassels are worn on the right. Upon direction from the stage at the conclusion of the ceremony, the tassel is moved to the left. Masters and Doctoral candidates will carry their hoods over their arm. The cap, gown and tassel can be purchased from The Cove Bookstore and at Grad Fest, held on March 5 & 6, 2019.
