Information for Graduates

For accommodation requests for Commencement (including accessible seating and stage route for graduates utilizing wheelchairs, walkers or crutches) please contact Disability Accommodations and Support Services via phone at 805-437-3331 or email ci.accessibility@csuci.edu no later than Friday, May 4, 2018.

Disability Parking Accommodations

There are accessible parking areas designated for graduates and guests with disabilities available on a first-come, first-served basis.  On the day of Commencement, only those vehicles with a University-issued Commencement Parking Permit will be allowed to park on campus. Student parking permits, student housing parking permits, day permits and other regularly issued University parking permits are not valid for Commencement.

In addition to the Commencement permit, graduates who possess a Disabled Person(s) Parking Placard must display the placard upon entrance to the campus on the day of Commencement in order to be directed to the designated parking areas.

Information for Guests

Seating

A designated seating area for guests with disabilities will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This area will be opened to the general public after the ceremony begins, therefore early arrival is recommended. Due to limited seating, guests with disabilities may be accompanied by only one (1) companion.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters

To ensure accessible viewing distance, guests utilizing ASL services should contact Disability Accommodations and Support Services at ci.accessibility@csuci.edu or via phone at 805-437-3331 no later than Friday, May 4, 2018, for priority seating within the designated area.

In addition to the Commencement permit, guests who possess a Disabled Person(s) Parking Placard must display the placard upon entrance to the campus on the day of Commencement in order to be directed to the designated parking areas.

Limited on-campus shuttles will be available to transport guests who need disability-related accommodations or who otherwise need additional assistance to reach the event site.
