Mr. Edwin Lebioda, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at California State University Channel Islands (CI) earned his M.S. in Recreation Administration with a minor in exercise physiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining CI in 2002, Ed was awarded recognition as a top administrator in his capacity as the founding Director of Recreation and Leisure Services and the Assistant to the Dean at Florida Gulf Coast University, a start-up campus which opened in 1997.

In his first role at CI, Mr. Lebioda was primarily responsible for human resources, budget, facilities, and operations within the Division of Student Affairs. While at CI he has assisted in the design of three student housing projects, the recreation center, the student union, the Channel Islands Boating Center (CIBC) and a host of other division and University related projects. In 2007, Mr. Lebioda was recognized by the students of CI with the Maximus Award honoring him with the distinction of Administrator of the Year and in 2013 with the first Division of Student Affairs "Distinguished Service Award".

In 2013, Mr. Lebioda was asked to lead Wellness & Athletics, a newly created area in Student Affairs. This area has since grown and now includes Campus Recreation, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Disability Accommodations & Support Services, Student Health Services, Wellness Promotion & Education and the planning of Intercollegiate Athletics.
