Aug. 17, 2020 (updated 8/18/2020)

Dear Campus Community:

As we prepare for the start of the fall semester, CSUCI is fully committed to delivering our educational mission while protecting the health and safety of our campus community and minimizing the potential spread of COVID-19.

CSUCI is following guidelines and public orders from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Ventura County Public Health (VCPH), as well as  additional guidelines issued on Aug. 7, 2020 by CDPH for Institutions of Higher Education.

CSUCI students, employees and, where permitted, visitors on the campus, are expected to adhere to these guidelines as long as they are in effect. Due to the fluid nature of changes in health and safety requirements, these requirements may change as new or additional guidance are issued.

Below are requirements for all employees who may be coming to the campus for any reason, including performing work on campus:

  • At this time, prior to returning to campus for any work-related reason, all employees are required to complete the online CSUCI Returning to Work During COVID-19.
  • Proper use of face coverings (over the mouth and nose) in all facilities, service areas, and public places on campus, including those that are outdoors (specific information can be found at CDPH Face Covering Guidance);
  • Use of good personal hygiene practices, e.g., handwashing, cough/sneeze etiquette;
  • Adhere to campus signage and building occupancies including common areas to ensure physical distancing;
  • Isolation and quarantine when warranted;
  • Compliance with all rules regarding limits on gatherings, especially indoors; and
  • Not visiting or working on the campus if experiencing any signs of illness.

Items such as face masks and gloves are available to all areas and divisions. Please contact Environment, Health & Safety or 805-437-3922 should you need to be provided with any of these items.

If you have a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering, and persons who are hearing impaired or communicate with a person who is hearing impaired where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication, please contact Human Resources at 805-437-8490.

CSUCI employees may also refer to additional information found on the University’s Fall 2020 Semester website.

Should you have any questions regarding this communication or health and safety requirements, please contact Environment, Health & Safety at 805-437-3922.

We appreciate your commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy campus environment and we wish you a successful fall semester.
