Aug. 17, 2020

Dear Students:

As outlined in the additional guidelines issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for Institutions of Higher Education, students who are enrolled for in-person classes and/or residing in on-campus housing are required to complete COVID-19 prevention training. I am communicating with you directly because our records indicate that you are enrolled for in-person classes and/or residing on-campus in housing for the fall 2020 semester.

You can access this training by logging into your myCI portal and clicking on “CI Learn” – this will take you to your Canvas homepage where you will see the COVID-19 Student Return to Campus – Required Training course listed in your dashboard. Click on the course to receive instructions and complete the training, which may take up to 60 minutes.

You are required to complete this training by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, August 23.  Ultimately, failure to complete this COVID training may result in a student not being allowed to attend their in-person classes, a conduct referral to the Dean of Students’ office, or housing disciplinary action.

I understand this is a very quick timeframe during an extremely busy time. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this training or if you are a student enrolled for in-person classes and will be completing them online, please contact Andrea Coppinger.

We appreciate your commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy campus environment and wish you a successful fall semester.

Sincerely,
Richard Yao, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Affairs
