Dear Faculty, Staff and Student Employees,

The Fall semester begins Monday and we need each of you to continue to do your part to support the campus safety plan that we have been working on diligently for months, in preparation for our reintegration of the campus community. We have built systems and structures for each of the protective factors listed below to mitigate risk, but the foundation of the entire plan is evidence of our campus’s high vaccination rate.

Note that members of CSUEU, APC and SUPA - have signed MOU's that require testing or verification. If you have not submitted your verification by Monday, you are required to test weekly.

Please ensure you have completed the actions as they pertain to you included below:

  1. Upload your documentation of being fully vaccinated or that you have an approved medical or religious exemption by following the information and instructions specific to your employee affiliation.
  2. Free Pfizer vaccinations clinics being held on campus at El Dorado Hall.
  3. Be prompt in following requirements for weekly testing provided free on campus for those with an approved medical or religious exemption and for all who have begun the vaccination process but have not yet completed it. Adherence to testing requirements will be monitored weekly, with follow-up notification and enforcement protocols in place.
  4. Please review the recent email communication provided by Environmental Health & Safety with regard to COVID-19 contact tracing protocols. If you become aware of a positive COVID-19 case or your possible exposure to someone who is infected, please file a report via our COVID-19 Case or Possible Exposure reporting tool.
  5. Be sure to complete the CSU Safety in the Workplace Training prior to returning to campus. If you completed the training on or after Aug. 5, 2021, you do not need to retake the course. For those who completed the training prior to Aug. 5, 2021, you will need to re-register and take the course again due to updated information and safety protocols.
  6. Be proactive in monitoring your health and possible exposures by completing a daily self-check for symptoms and by making a habit of checking campus exposures which will be continuously updated on CSUCI’s COVID Cases webpage.

Additionally, we have developed Internal Event Guidelines (including requirement of masks at outdoor events for 50+ guests) to share with the campus community. We have also installed MERV 13 filters in buildings and maximized fresh air intake everywhere possible, while still maintaining proper indoor air quality levels. We conducted workspace safety checks and provided modifications as needed throughout the campus. This brief video describes work completed over the summer, as well as other health reminders.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support as we welcome our students, faculty and staff to our beautiful campus!
