Dear CSUCI Community:
We would like to inform you of an update to the University’s COVID-19 communication protocol. As you may know, since the Spring of 2020, data and information regarding on-campus infections have been shared on our Campus Cases webpage.
However, due to updated regulations by the California Occupational Safety & Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) and AB685, after CSUCI has received confirmation of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been physically on the campus or a University-related instructional site according to workplace exposure guidelines of Cal/OSHA, communication to all employees and students must be provided within one (1) business day.
CSUCI’s Environmental Health & Safety office will send an email indicating the date(s) and campus location(s) where the infected individual may have visited.
Assistance and campus resources for individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will be provided by CSUCI. Additionally, as has been our campus protocol, individuals who came into close contact (as defined by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19, will be identified and contacted by a member of our CSUCI COVID-19 Case Management Team.
If you have questions or concerns regarding this update, please email CSUCI’s Environmental Health & Safety office or call them at 805-437-3550. Thank you.
