As stated in the Enrollment Guide, Freshman Island View Orientation (FIVO) is a mandatory enrollment requirement. FIVO is a one-day virtual program that will introduce you to important resources and services and provide you with critical academic advising information. Students are expected to complete all requirements outlined by New Student Orientation (pre-orientation and scheduled virtual FIVO date) to remain eligible for fall 2021 enrollment. Students who do not complete all assigned requirements are not eligible for fall enrollment, and would need to reapply for the following open academic term.

FIVO Requirements to maintain Fall 2021 enrollment:

  • Complete Dolphin Link
  • Review Advising Canvas Course
  • Register for Classes
  • Attend Virtual Orientation Date via Zoom
  • Select two Navigate CSUCI Sessions (sessions will be shared in May) 

Fall 2021 Virtual Orientation Schedule Information

A copy of the fall 2021 virtual orientation schedule will be posted on the website in May. Expect to receive all information via CSUCI email address in May, please make sure you are checking your email regularly for orientation updates and to-do's.

The virtual orientation will consist of 4-5 hour live sessions via Zoom. You will be expected to attend the following live sessions on this day: 

  • Financial Aid
  • Student Business Services
  • Title IX
  • Student Conduct
  • Academic Advising
  • Faculty

Technical Requirements Needed to Participate: 

  • The live portion of Orientation will take place on Zoom. After you register for online orientation, we will send you instructions via email for signing in.
  • Make sure to download and install Zoom before your Orientation date. 
  • If you have already installed Zoom, check for updates to make sure you have the latest version.
  • You must be signed in to your CSUCI Zoom account to access the live orientation sessions.
