Island View Orientation is the first step in your journey at CSUCI. There is a lot of information given to new students, so it is important you are prepared prior to your orientation. Please review the following checklist to help you have a successful orientation experience.

Pre-Orientation Checklist

1. Log into your MyCI account

  • Make sure you can log into your account in order to accept your admission offer to CSUCI.

2.  Register for  Transfer Island View Orientation

  • Sign up for the Island View Orientation date that corresponds with your major before the deadline. Deadline to register is Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. 

 3. Pay for Transfer Island View Orientation

  •  Pay the non-refundable orientation fee by Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. to complete your three step to enroll process. 

 4. Complete the Dolphin Link 

  •  The Dolphin Link is our online orientation platform. The Dolphin Link will provide you an opportunity to learn about the different programs and services available to you at CSUCI. You must complete this to its entirety in order to register for classes, please allow ample time to get this done. The Dolphin Link must be completed prior to your virtual orientation date. Please note, this is not your virtual orientation, you are still required to attend the virtual orientation via zoom. Dolphin Link will be sent via email, July 1, 2021. 

 5. Complete Advising Canvas Course

  • The Advising Canvas course gives you information on your degree requirements and how to enroll in classes. Since you will register before your Orientation date, this course will teach you how to select courses for fall and how to register for them.  Make sure to login to your myCI and complete this course. You will be granted access to this course via CI Learn July 10th. The course is titled “Advising for New Transfer.” If you cannot access this course, please contact immediately. Due to the high volume, Advising cannot meet with new students individually prior to registration. 

6. Register for Classes 

  • Once you have completed the Dolphin Link and Advising Canvas course, you will have the option to register for classes from the comfort of your own home.  You can begin registering a few days before your scheduled orientation date – you can view your registration date and time in your myCI Student Center in CI Records by July 6th. Advisors will be available to meet with you during orientation to review your schedule and provide additional guidance on selecting courses.  7. Attend Your Virtual Orientation via Zoom 

  • Orientation is a mandatory virtual program that will introduce you to important resources and services offered at CSUCI. You will be required to participate in a live zoom sessions with Financial Aid,  Student Business Services, Academic Advising and CI Faculty. Zoom Links will be provided to you one week prior to your virtual orientation date via CSUCI email address. Expect an 8:0 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. day on your scheduled virtual orientation date. 

8. Register and complete one Navigate CSUCI session

  • As we take on a virtual approach this summer, New Student Orientation has developed different avenues in which information can be shared with you. All incoming students are required to register for one Navigate CSUCI session. Navigate CSUCI sessions will provide students an opportunity to learn more about specific programs and services, as well as, crucial information to smoothly transition to CSUCI this fall. These offerings will take place in August. Sessions will be an hour in length, with a 45-minute presentation and 15 minute Q&A. You will have access to register for sessions on June 1st.
