When you feel you’re running in circles or repeatedly running into brick walls, the University Ombuds can help find a way out… or create a new path forward where a wall once existed.

For example, consider a situation where a new program is under development requiring coordination across two divisions. At one point, the program’s proponent finds it difficult to obtain a certain resource from the other division because of uncertainty about that division’s protocols or organizational structure. Because the Ombuds Office is not affiliated with either Division and has no stake in the process, the University Ombuds can research the issue and make the connection for the proponent. Or, you may feel uncomfortable seeking information from a certain office because of fear of repercussions. The Ombuds Office can help seek that information anonymously.
