The purpose of the President’s Faculty Fellow Program is to cultivate faculty leadership through the advancement of institutional mission fulfillment. As part of the program, the Faculty Fellow will gain exposure to the complexity of running an academic enterprise through a variety of means including having regular meetings with the President and Cabinet, as well as attending various university and system-wide meetings including the Board of Trustees, CSUCI Foundation Board, Senate Executive Council and Divisional Senior Leadership Teams. Each Fellow will be expected to complete a Focus Project in support of furthering the CSU Graduation 2025 Goals, which will be collectively developed by the President and Faculty Fellow.

Each spring, faculty will be invited to apply for the President’s Faculty Fellow Program for the following academic year. A letter of support from an Academic Dean or AVP must be included with the application materials. All materials will be presented to the Provost who will then send recommendations to the President. The President will then make the final appointment. In order to be eligible for the Fellowship, faculty must be of associate or full professor status, not be on sabbatical or leave during the fellowship and must have been employed at CSUCI for at least five years. Three course releases for the fall and spring semesters will be granted and the expectation is that this will be a ¾ appointment that is not coupled with other university or grant related reassigned time.
