What should students know about me?

  • I am interested in helping marginalized and underrepresented communities on campus
  • I am excited to be a part of the Student Advisory Board and being a liaison between students and the University officials
  • I am the National President to my sorority, and also have interest in supporting CSUCI's Greek Life

How do I feel the Student Advisory Board can play a critical role in the CSUCI Community?

“As part of the advisory board I believe it’s critical that we focus on the needs and experiences of the students (both undergraduates and graduates). The board is made up of students with multiple identities, which has been really helpful in sharing with the VPSA the different perspectives that a student can have. It’s important to have this diverse representation so that we can capture the various experiences and ensure that many student populations are being heard.”

  • I focus on issues affecting First-Generation Students, First Year Students, Undocumented Students, Underrepresented Communities, and Student Engagement
  • I am committed to ensuring students receive the most out of their experience at CI by participating in events and initiatives that align with their values, interests, and needs

How do I feel the Student Advisory Board can play a critical role in the CSUCI Community?

“The Student Advisory Board is very critical to CSUCI's Mission Statement, to place students at the center of the educational experience. Student Engagement is one of the avenues I'd like to focus on to improve student experiences with involvement in clubs and organizations and helping students navigate the resources available to them on campus. I also look forward to hearing from my peers to see which resources they hope to see on campus and which resources need to be improved. As a first-generation student, it is important to me and my peers that we have a seat at the table to see how our concerns are not only being acknowledged, but also addressed and resolved.”

“Advisory Council is a volunteered based council that focuses on representing those who are underrepresented. We focus on bringing to attention campus issues such as issues related to COVID and student life and innovating ways to solve them.”

  • My future educational goal is to be able to receive a doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology
  • I believe honesty, responsibility, and an open mind is key to understand other perspectives
  • I love to explore new and interesting places (e.g. camping, hiking, backpacking, and road tripping)

“The work we do in the VPSA Student Advisory Board is one that goes easily unnoticed but every day students come together and discuss the issues that they see students are experiencing and we work with Interim VP Toni DeBoni to find tangible and realistic answers that take our students into account so that they can benefit as a whole.”
