K-8th Grade Tours and Programming

Fall 2020 Semester

CSU Channel Islands will remain virtual in the fall, therefore k-8th grade programming for University Outreach (LEAP) has been suspended.  We take the health and safety of our students, staff, visitors, and community seriously and urge everyone to continue to follow the guidelines set forth by public health officials. We appreciate your understanding.

No decision has been made for Spring 2021, however University Outreach will accept reservations with the anticipation that our campus will reopen. Please note, reservations spring 2021 opened on May 1, 2020.

Purpose

University Outreach at California State University Channel Islands looks to motivate and inform K-8th grade students the benefits of higher education and goal-setting for a brighter future.  Primarily serving K-8th grade students of under-represented and low-income communities through distinct college readiness programs, University Outreach seeks to create a university-going culture through free-of-charge campus visits, school site visits and community events.

Programs Offered:

  • K-8th grade Pathway to College program (Fridays)
  • K-8th grade 1-hour Guided Tour (Tuesdays or Wednesdays)
  • K-8th grade School Workshop/Presentation (varies depending on need, limited to Ventura County)

Things to know:

  • Tour guides are volunteers, known as the LEAP team. Tour capacities, minimum chaperones, and set times are non-flexible.
  • Select an on- or off-campus program link below to view specific information for each program.
  • Due to liability, visiting groups should provide one chaperone per ten students. Tours will be divided based on the number of chaperones that attend the visit.
  • Blackout dates and updated availability can be found on the registration page. The registration page can be found below by click "Register Now!".
  • Contact our main office for any questions at 805-437-3155.

Reservations for our programs are on a first-come, first-serve basis and are only accepted online. Registration opens May 1 for the following academic year.
