Q. What is Admitted Dolphin Day?

A. Admitted Dolphin Day is an opportunity for admitted freshmen to learn about next steps in the enrollment process and receive an overview of the academic experience related to their major of study. Both campus and housing tours will be offered as well as an opportunity for you to talk with representatives from student services.

Q. Is this an open house where I can come and go at any time?

A. No, this event is organized by the student’s intended major. Students must attend the workshop that corresponds to their major.

Q. Why are there two dates for Admitted Dolphin Day? Do I have to attend both?

A. You do not have to attend both days. Your attendance at Admitted Dolphin Day is based on the major  you selected on your admissions application to CI. For example, if you selected Psychology, you will RSVP for session 1 on Saturday April 8, at 8:00 a.m. Please see the session schedules on the right side navigational menu to find your session.

Q. What if I am no longer interested in the major I chose?

A. When you RSVP for Admitted Dolphin Day please choose which session to attend based on your major. This does not mean you will have to enroll in that major. Only one workshop at Admitted Dolphin Day will be about your major. All of the other workshops will discuss important factors such as financial aid, next steps in enrollment, and living on campus.

Q. I am not sure what I should I study in college. What session should  I go to?

A. If your major is undeclared you will choose session 3 on Saturday April 22 at 8:00 a.m.

Q. My major is not offered on a day I can attend. What should I do?

A. If you cannot attend Admitted Dolphin Day on April 8 or 22, a "Next Step’s Workshop" will be offered on Friday April 28, 2017. You may RSVP now for this workshop. Please understand that this session will not include an overview of your major or an opportunity to meet faculty. The intent of the Next Step's Workshop is to help you understand the next steps in the enrollment process, which includes details about financial aid deadlines and processes.

Q. Do I have to be admitted to CI in order to attend Admitted Dolphin Day?

A. Yes, you must have received a letter offering you provisional admission as a new freshman in order to attend Admitted Dolphin Day.

Q. Is Admitted Dolphin Day the same as going to Orientation?

A. Admitted Dolphin Day is different from New Student Orientation (IVO). Once you submit your intent to enroll and commit to attending CI, you will be required to attend an orientation session in June.

Q. If I am unsure of whether or not to attend CSU Channel Islands, should I still attend?

A. Definitely. Admitted Dolphin Day is an excellent opportunity to determine whether or not CSU Channel Islands is a good fit for you as well as learn about next steps in the enrollment process.

Q. Will there be a lot of walking?

A. Yes, please bring comfortable shoes. Expect to be walking throughout your time here.

Q. Can I bring my parents or other relatives?

A. Yes, we encourage you to bring a parent(s) with you to the event. Because of capacity issues, we ask that you limit guests to no more than two adults.

Q. Will there be food and beverages available to purchase?

A. Yes, food and beverages will be available for purchase at various campus locations.

Q. If I cannot attend this event, is there another time I can visit CI?

A. A Next Step’s Workshop will be offered on Friday April 28, 2017. Please understand that this workshop is not intended to replace all of the content offered at Admitted Dolphin Day, but will cover the essentials associated with becoming successfully enrolled at CI in the fall.

A. Yes, bring your documents to the Financial Aid session.
