National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month (NPM) is sponsored by the Ready Campaign and FEMA. NPM is held each September and is designed to encourage all Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities.

Being informed about the different types of emergencies that could happen where you live, and the appropriate ways to respond to them, will impact the decisions you make and the actions you take. The best thing you can do for your family is to be prepared for an emergency with a family plan, emergency kit, and supplies. The recommended amount of supplies should last a minimum of 3 days for each person. Your emergency planning should also address the care of pets, aiding family members with access and functional needs and safely shutting off utilities

BE INFORMED – MAKE A PLAN – BUILD A KIT – GET INVOLVED
