Blackboard Roving Sessions- Jan. 30, Feb. 19, Mar. 4, Apr. 18

The Teaching and Learning with Technology Initiative in conjunction with Academic Technology Services will be holding 'Roving Blackboard Sessions' throughout the semester to support faculty in their use of technology in the classroom. Bring your questions and ideas about CI Learn or stop by and hear how your colleagues are using technology to support student learning. The sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 30: Bell Tower West 1188, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 19: Madera Hall 2381, 3:30 p.m.-5:30.p.m.
  • Monday, March 4: Bell Tower West 1188, 12:30 p.m.-2:30.p.m.
  • Thursday, April 18: Madera Hall 2381, 9 a.m.-11a.m.

Self Defense Class for Men- Mar. 1, 2, 3

The CI Police Department will be offering R.A.D. class for men March 1st, 2nd and 3rd for students, staff, and faculty of CSU Channel Islands. The time is 4 p.m. to 8.p.m.

This is a 12 hour class (4 hours each day) with a $20 registration fee due at sign-up. The fee will be fully refunded upon completion of all 12 hours in the program. Class size is limited, so register NOW at Police and Parking Services located in Placer Hall. The deadline to register for this class is Friday, February 15th at 5:00pm.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Raise their awareness of aggressive behavior
  • Recognize how aggressive behavior impacts their lives
  • Learn steps to avoid aggressive behavior
  • Consider how they can be part of reducing aggression and violence
  • Practice hands-on self-defense skills to resist and escape aggressive behavior directed toward them.

This program is designed to empower participants to make safer choices when confronted with aggressive behavior.
