Student Government joins White House campaign

CI’s Student Government has joined The White House's, It's On Us Campaign with the goal of building communities that stand up to sexual assault and support sexual assault survivors. Student Government leaders have emphasized that they recognize this issue transcends sexes, genders and identities and continue to work to ensure that this is reflected in the programs the University implements as well as in the legislation our state presents. Over the next school year roundtable discussions will allow for the CI community to come together and build a plan of action for ensuring that the future of the CI stands up to sexual assault.

This past month CI Island News, filmed a public service announcement starring Student Government representatives. Senators, executive members and the President of Student Government highlighted the values of Channel Islands and challenged CI students, faculty, staff and administration to be responsible members of their communities by taking the pledge at www.itsonus.org and taking action. Corporate Games 2015 – It’s Game Time!

It’s time for CI full-time employees and faculty to think about participating in the 2015 City of Ventura (CoV) Corporate Games – this year’s theme: It’s Game Time. Over 10,000 participants – 80 teams - participate in 32 events during six weeks of friendly competition, March 28 through May 9, 2015.

CI finished last year with two team silver medals in Paintball and Men’s Softball and a second place for group photo. Our goal is to participate in ALL events and due to the size of our employee pool, we can have three teams in each event.

CoV has released updated Information & Rules and a List of Sports, Dates & Locations.

We will plan sign-up days for next month and meetings for those who are interested in helping to coordinate practices, participate in the spirit competition events, weekly competitions, photography and tee shirt design entries, community service project, and opening/closing ceremonies.
