2015 Flu Vaccine Clinics

In conjunction with Ventura County Public Health, Student Health Services will offer four flu vaccine clinics (PDF, 5.6MB) in October. CI students, faculty and staff can stop by the Bell Tower East Mission Lounge on any of the four dates/times below to obtain their flu vaccine. The cost to students is free and $2 for faculty/staff (exact change appreciated).

  • Tuesday, Oct. 13 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 15 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 21 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Some people should not be vaccinated without first consulting a physician. These people include:

  • Those who have a severe allergy to chicken eggs
  • Those who’ve had a severe reaction to an influenza vaccination in the past
  • Those who’ve developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) within six weeks of getting an influenza vaccine
  • Children less than six months of age (the influenza vaccine is not approved for use in this age group)
  • Those who have moderate to severe illness with a fever should wait to get vaccinated until their symptoms subside

Time to Learn- Fall Workshop Series – Oct. 22 and Oct. 27

Employees are invited to the kickoff of a Staff Development Fall Workshop Series, sponsored by CI’s Human Resources. These workshops are available to provide all campus employees an opportunity to enhance workplace skills and learn together in a community environment. Be on the lookout for November workshop opportunities coming soon.

Oct. 22, 9:30-11 a.m. in Ojai Hall, Room 1986: “Why, Oh Why? Understanding Position Descriptions and Requisitions.” This seminar will clarify the whys and provide the attendee with the knowledge and confidence to complete both forms successfully.

Oct. 27, 9-11 a.m. in Bell Tower, Room 1568: Optum Health Services presents “Workplace Engagement.” Learn about employee engagement and walk away with tools for getting your employee engaged at their workplace. Note-this presentation is intended for Managers/Supervisors, but all are welcome.
