Financial Aid

Other Programs

These programs have different funding and disbursement requirements:

Study Abroad

  • Study Abroad Programs enable you to attend a university in another country for one semester and, for some programs, an academic year.
  • If you qualify for Financial Aid at CSU Channel Islands, these funds may be applied to the educational costs associated with the International Program (IP), with the exception of Federal Work Study.
  • You maintain enrollment status at CSU Channel Islands while attending college outside the United States.
  • Most of the programs require you to pay full-time registration fees for each semester abroad.
If you have questions regarding the Study Abroad Program, please feel free to contact the Center for International Affairs.

Veterans

If you are on active duty or are a Veteran, you may be eligible for Financial Aid. By completing a FAFSA, you will automatically be considered for most Financial Aid programs.

If you are on active duty in the U.S Armed forces and plan to attend the University at any time during the academic year, you should complete your FAFSA before your military release date AND before you are admitted to the University

If you are Veteran of the U.S Armed forces, you are not required to provide your parents' information on the FAFSA if:
  • you are currently serving or have engaged in active duty in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard,
  • you are  National Guard or Reserve enlistee who was called to federal active duty for purposes other than training,
  • you were a cadet or midshipman at one of the service academies, and
  • you were released from service under a condition other than dishonorable, or
  • you are not a veteran but will be by June 30.
If you have questions please feel free to contact Veterans Services.
