Doug is a non-practicing CA attorney. He was in-house counsel and V.P. of Operations for McMahan's Furniture, a 120 store chain, from 1980 through their sale to Heilig-Meyers Furniture in 1995. At that time he was named Senior Regional Vice President for the Western United States for Heilig-Meyers. Doug was responsible for 176 stores west of the Mississippi River from 1995 until the company closed in 2000 (his Region was profitable).

In 1988 Doug obtained his CA Real Estate Broker’s License. He went into Commercial Real Estate in 2000 after Heilig-Meyers. He handled transactions for retail firms including Ethan Allen, Bassett, Easy Life, Sit 'n Sleep, Levitz, Wickes and at least a dozen others. Doug handled industrial, office and raw land transactions as well.

Also in 1988 Doug founded Fantastic Indoor Swap Meet in Las Vegas, a 3 acre indoor entrepreneurial marketplace that has launched 4,000 businesses and had over 14,000,000 shoppers since its inception.  He continue to be active in the business.

Additionally, Doug has served on the following Boards for not-for-profit, common-interest, membership driven entities, so he understand the dynamics and income/expense considerations of membership driven associations:
