Waseda University is one of the top universities in Japan and has a very large international population. The courses that CSU students take will be taught in English alongside fellow international students. All incoming international students take a placement test at the beginning of the year to decide what level of intensive Japanese study they will take throughout the entire academic year. Most Japanese language courses are taught at 9am and run three days a week.

Upon arrival in Japan, CSU Students are met by the program coordinator. The coordinator is in charge of the students until their permanent residencies are determined, and also oversees their progress throughout the academic year. Included in the program costs are group trips organized by the program coordinator that occur throughout the year.
