President’s Welcome: Students at California State University Channel Islands are partners and pioneers in their educational experience. The success and experiences students have at CSUCI creates a momentum they will have for life.

Alumni Spirit: If you’re a CSUCI alum and it has been a while since you’ve been on campus, we’d like to welcome you back. Join us on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, for the CSUCI Alumni: 5-year Celebration! A lot has changed in a short time, and we’d like to show you the progress that’s been made.

Groundbreaking Ceremony: Weather moved the groundbreaking ceremony for the Martin V. Smith Center for Integrative Decision-Making indoors, but enthusiasm for the new 4,187-square-foot space wasn’t dampened. The new building will be completed in 2009.

John Spoor Broome Library: The John Spoor Broome Library is officially open to the campus and surrounding communities. The new 137,000-square-foot building has traditional library offerings and many new featurescheck them out today!

Business & Technology Partnership: The ties between business and technology at CSUCI are strong. On April 24, 2008, CSUCI’s Business & Technology Partnership will recognize individuals and present scholarships at the B&TP Leadership Dinner.

Commencement 2008: Commencement is a special day punctuated by the accomplishments of hundreds of graduates. CSUCI’s Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 17, 2008, and will be held in the South Quad of the campus.

The Cove Bookstore: Looking for some CI spirit? Find it, along with books, at The Cove Bookstore. Visit its new location in Town Center, just a short walk from the Bell Tower and student housing.

The Faculty: Each year CSUCI welcomes new faculty members to lead its growing number of courses. For the 2007-08 academic year, the University's roster included 85 tenure-track faculty and 200 full and part-time lecturers.s
